Archaeological Sites
Among sites to be seen are two graveyards over 2000 years old - Al Ghusias and Al Sufooh. At Jumeirah, you can see artefacts from the 7th to the 15th century.
Bastakiya
This is part of old Dubai. Narrow lanes and houses with courtyards and tall wind-towers are some of the characteristics of Bastakiya. Daily from 8.30am - 9.30pm
Sheikh Saeed's Al Maktoum's House
The house of this 19th century ruler presents an example of the traditional architecture of Dubai, with layers of rooms built around a central courtyard. Ph: 393-7139
Jumeirah Mosque
The twin minarets and majestic dome of this mosque are a city landmark. Worth viewing at night. Ph: 344-7755
Grand Mosque
The Grand Mosque on the Bur Dubai side of the Creek has the city's tallest minaret (70 metres).
Bhurj Nahar
One of the three watchtowers of the old city, Bhurj Nahar is known for its beautiful gardens.
Bait Al Wakeel
Dubai's first office building built by the late Sheikh Rashid, Bait Al Wakeel, has been restored and has a museum devoted to Dubai's fishing and maritime traditions.
Dubai Museum
The building that now houses the Dubai museum served as a palace and a prison during the 19th century. The museum includes life-size figures, traditional Arab houses, the souk , fascinating glimpses into the past and marine life.

Umm Al Sheif Majlis
The summer resort of the late ruler of Dubai has gardens with reproductions of the traditional irrigation system.

Dubai World Trade Centre
The 39-floor tall Dubai World Trade Centre has a conference centre, 7 exhibition halls. Guided tours operate twice daily at 9:30am and 4:30pm.
Bani Yas Square
The Deira Tower; a shopping, office and residential complex symbolis a blend of modern architecture (it is designed to keep out the heat during peak summer months) with older surroundings.

Al Ain
Al Ain, the garden city boasts the Al Ain Museum, ancient fort, a camel market in Buriami (Oman side), a 5000-year-old archaeological site at Hilli.
East Coast
The Al Hajar mountain range, Dibba on the East Coast and Khorfakan is along the coastline. The return to Dubai takes you through small fishing villages.
